Bluebird Farm raises vibrant vegetables, farm meats, and eggs using techniques that improve the health of our land and contribute to a diverse farm ecosystem. We are dedicated to building living soils to ensure the health of our plants and animals. Every day offers new insights and learning opportunities, and we pride ourselves in observing our land, plants, and animals to make holistic decisions.
Our meat animals are fed certified organic grains. Each group of animals gets a healthy balance of grass, forage, hay, plant based proteins, minerals, and probiotics depending on their species. We strive to balance our animal's diets with the best grains while supporting other farmers that grow the organic grains for us. Our animals experience fresh air, sunshine, soft earth- just as animals should. We rotate our herds and flocks on pasture or shelter them in sunny, hay mulch bedded hoopbarns.
Our vegetables are grown in living soils without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, or fungicides and harvested at the peak of freshness. We use a combination of compost, cover crops, crop rotation, livestock integration to improve our soil year after year. Beneficial insects find shelter in our flower beds, woodlands, wetland, and brushy plant berm.
