Are You Going to Miss Our Vegetables?
Winter Vegetable Shares
Do you miss fresh vegetables in the winter? As farmers, we get to eat all sorts of delicious veggies through from our small winter garden. We are growing more every year in the late fall and winter, so this year we have enough to pack veggie boxes for you!
It is challenging to grow vegetables in the winter, but with mild fall weather and our expanding experience growing vegetables in the chilly weather with all sorts of tricks and management, we are happy to be extending the harvest season
December Vegetable Share $40
Wednesday 12/6 and 12/13
Both Wednesdays you will get a $20 box of our winter vegetables from the farm. Expect a bunch of cooking greens (either kale, collards, or Swiss chard), some root crops like carrots, watermelon radish, Japanese daikon radish, scallions, or Asian salad turnips. Hopefully we will have some arugula and herbs for salads if we don't get too many Arctic blasts. We also hope to have a head of cabbage in a box one week. We will have sweet potatoes one week and butternut squash the other week as the “heavy veggies” that store well.
February 2018 Vegetable Share $35
Wednesday 2/7 and 2/21
Both Wednesdays you will get a $17.50 box of our winter vegetables from the farm. We will have sweet potatoes and possibly butternut squash as the “heavy veggies” that store well.
